Part of the job of a REALTOR® is keeping up with what is happening in our community and surrounding areas. I periodically research the City of Mt Juliet and other websites pertaining to the community so that I will have a good idea of what is new in the area. Today, I came across the 2018 Mt Juliet Special Census on the City of Mt Juliet Tennessee website. Mt Juliet is conducting a special census on their own due to the amount of growth that they have seen in this area over the past couple of years.
So what does this mean to you? Well, the last federal census was conducted in 2015 and the next one is not scheduled until 2020. The funding that a city receives from the state is directly affected by the amount of people in a given area. These funds are used to improve roads, create parks and green spaces and improve public safety. If these funds are based off of the numbers received in 2015 then Mt Juliet is missing out on funding they could be receiving now due to the extensive growth in this area. So, if you have a few minutes, please take the time to fill out the census at the link provided below. The deadline is November 15, 2017 and just by filling out this information, you will be entered in a drawing to win a $50 gift card. Let's help our community receive the state funding it deserves!
